… her first sea trial. We automated its LNG system on behalf of Siemens Energy and were responsible for the engineering and construction of the control cabinets. The latter control the fuel pumps for the liquefied natural gas drive. Following delivery of the control cabinets to Finland, we took over the remaining work on site in February.
During the sea trials in the Baltic Sea, it then became apparent that the liquid gas pressure was too low due to the many bends in the pipe. We were therefore commissioned to install two additional small switch boxes for booster pumps to adjust the pressure.
After the “Icon of the Seas”, we were commissioned to equip two more cruise ships in the same series with control cabinets.
